FURIOUS parents have claimed their ungrateful son uninvited them from his wedding despite living rent-free in their second home – and now plan to sell it from under him.
After expecting to celebrate their son’s wedding later this year, the stunned parents were instead told not to attend as they would “embarrass” the bride-to-be.
Taking to Reddit for advice over the sticky situation, the dad said that he and his wife purchased a second home for their son when he moved to college.
However, after being told they would not be welcome at his nuptials, they now plan to kick their son out of the home where he lives rent-free.
They said in the post: “Since he doesn’t want us in his new life, he has to get out.”
The father explained that while their son pays utilities in the home, everything else is paid for by his parents.
Although the parents said they initially liked their son’s fiancé after she moved into the house, trouble emerged when the two families got together to meet each other.
The dad said that while they were getting ready for a family BBQ, his wife and daughter were brought inside for a chat with his son, his fiancé and her family.
When they returned upset minutes later, he was stunned to be told “our son and his fiancé along with her family don’t want us at the wedding.”
“According to what I was told: ‘We’re not their kind of people’.
“I was livid, I called my son and asked him WTH this was about.
“He tells me that her family feel that we are not good enough and will embarrass them at a family wedding and that we are all uninvited from the wedding.”

To make matters worse, the dad said that after giving the situation a week to cool off, he was furious to discover his future in-laws had seemingly moved into the house when he drove up to confront his son.
“It appears that they all moved into the house.
“They ask me why I’m there, I tell them that since we aren’t invited to the wedding, I was coming over to talk to my son.
“They tell me to leave their house. I lost it, and told them that they had 30 days to get out. Tell my son I’m selling the house and he could find somewhere else to live with all of you. I go to a realtor in town and list the house for sale.”
The livid father seemed to be supported on Reddit by others who took his side of the argument.
One commented: “Rock on man. He was wrong and there is no amount of excuses or words to convince otherwise. It overall seems toxic and there is no reason why he should allow anyone to exclude his family.
Another user asked: “What kind of people do they think you are? How was your son ok with excluding his whole family? Do you think your son’s been brainwashed by his fiancée? How did he think the house was “his” when he didn’t pay the taxes on it?”
Another said the unappreciative son was simply “experiencing the natural consequences of his actions.”
However, one person recommended taking the peaceful route: “With your son I suggest you guys have a conversation see why is willing to cut you out for a new family.
“I mean it seems like you guys were happy until this relationship started. Don’t destroy your family to one up another.”
While most showed their support for the parents in this story, another Reddit user took to the site to share why they uninvited their parents after learning a shocking truth about how they met.
