ARSENAL are interested in signing Raheem Sterling but his £300,000-a-week wages could be a stumbling block, according to reports.
The Manchester City star will have just one year remaining on his deal this summer.
Sterling has stated that he will resolve his future at the end of the season, and is currently focused on helping City win the Premier League.
Arsenal have shown an interest in doing a summer deal for the England star.
But they may struggle to afford his salary.
According to the Standard, it is “unclear” whether the Gunners could match Sterling’s wage demands.

Boss Mikel Arteta worked closely with the 27-year-old during his time as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at City.
The Gunners are desperate to move for forward players this summer, but may lose out on Sterling to a club overseas.
Back in October, he told the FT Business of Sport US summit: “If there was an opportunity to go somewhere else, I would be open to it at this moment in time.
“As I said, football is the most important thing to me – challenges that I have set myself from a young age and dreams as well, to play abroad.”

City are now on course to win their fourth league title since Sterling’s 2015 arrival.
Arsenal are also interested in Sterling’s City team-mate Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian’s agent has confirmed that talks have taken place with the Gunners.
But he also stated that the forward is receiving plenty of interest.
