KANYE West objected to Kim Kardashian’s divorce filing as the rapper made new demands.
The reality star filed for divorce from her children’s father in February 2021 “citing irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Kanye responded to Kim’s petition to regain her single status and he is not okay with the move.
According to TMZ, the Grammy winner’s lawyer has objected his ex’s order out of concerns that Kim may move some of their assets to her separate accounts if she decides to remarry.
Kanye has reportedly accepted the model’s plea to be legally single, but only under certain conditions.
The Donda rapper first demanded that both parties get paid out any remaining balance owed if either of them dies.
The 44-year-old, who now goes by “Ye,” also wants to block his ex from transferring assets out of any trust they created together.
In addition, Ye wants Kim to waive their marital privilege pending a custody decision for their four children.
He also requested that all communication between the pair be used as court record and that spousal privilege be waived if she is to wed again.
Ye’s lawyer claimed that Kim rejected the rapper’s requirements.
According to a source, the father of four only recently started taking his ex’s threats of divorce seriously, despite her filing a year ago.
On October 9, 2021, Kim hosted Saturday Night Live and in her monologue shared a glimpse as to why she decided to divorce the artist.
The star said: “So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to one thing – his personality.”
“I know it sounds mean, but people keep telling me that comedy comes from truth.”
Adding: “And if there’s one thing that I always strive to be, it’s genuine.”
That same evening, she also shared a kiss on stage with her new beau, comedian Pete Davidson.
The two were first linked after her hosting debut on the comedy show where they locked lips during a sketch dressed as Disney characters Aladdin and Jasmin.
The couple have since been spotted on numerous dates together as friends close to the TV personality have claimed that she’s “genuinely happy” with the SNL star.
Their newfound romance apparently was a wakeup call for the Flashing Lights singer, who then realized that Kim’s divorce filing was serious.
“It’s really starting to hit home with Kanye,” an insider said.
“He says he doesn’t have the support system he used to have.
“Kris [Jenner] was like his mother and a huge support and now he feels he lost her too,” they added referring to Kim’s mother.
“Kim said either you get the help you need or I’m leaving – she got to her breaking point.
“But he didn’t take her seriously until Pete and it was a little too late.”
Frustrations over Kim and Pete’s relationship prompted a slew of online outbursts from Ye who called Pete a “d**khead” and insisted the comic will “never meet” the four children the rapper shares with Kim, 41.
The former couple are parents to daughters North, eight, and Chicago, four, and sons Saint, six, and Psalm, 2.
Kim’s final straw, however, occurred long before she entered a relationship with Pete, 28.
Before the filing, the pair had gotten into a blowout fight over where to vacation with their family, while they had already been at odds over their living situation.
A source told The Sun: “Friends have been told that the final straw came when Kim and Kanye were making family summer plans and they couldn’t agree.”
The source continued: “What seemed like nothing more than a simple conversation over dates and locations escalated, and sadly it turned into a huge blowout argument.
“The final fight that ended their marriage was over nothing more than summer plans.
“It was one blowout fight that wasn’t even that serious and it pushed Kim over the edge.
“Kim was just fed up with the endless conflict and finally called it quits.”
Ye has since made numerous attempts to reunite his family, pleading with Kim to take him back.
For one, he begged the SKIMS founder to forgive him while onstage at his Donda concert.
More recently, he had a truck filled with roses delivered to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum’s $60M mansion for Valentine’s Day.
Kim, however, was not home at the time as she was celebrating the holiday in New York City with Pete.
