DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband has made my life an absolute misery since we married three years ago.
I moved in with him after our wedding, but he quickly told me that it was his house.
No issue is too small, too large or too embarrassing. Read our personal replies here.
We’re both in our late 50s. He controls almost everything and I don’t feel as though this is home.
He’s turned what was our bedroom into a man cave, complete with TV, games console and beer fridge – now I hardly go in there.
He controls the TV, heating, hot water, the wifi and the landline.
Nobody comes to visit because he is so unwelcoming and, frankly, I’d be embarrassed.
The abuse has escalated recently. He screams and calls me insulting names.
Every problem gets a personal reply, usually within 24 hours weekdays.

He has hit me and pulls my hair.
I know I should leave, but I would feel bad if it meant he’d have to sell his home, so I’m hanging in, trying to keep the peace.
