AXED Dancing On Ice star Hamish Gaman has claimed he was asked to KISS Faye Brookes on the show last year despite being engaged to fiancée Amelia Humfress.
Hamish, 38, and Faye, 34, were paired up on the 2021 series before he snapped a tendon in his hand and was forced to step aside.
Hamish says he refused and the show used camera angles to[/caption]He said he refused to kiss the ex Corrie actress, who was dating personal trainer Joe Davies, in front of a live audience whilst millions watched at home, and feared a backlash.
Writing on Instagram last night, Hamish said: “I was asked by a senior member of the creative team to kiss Faye during one of our routines.
“When I said we’d both be uncomfortable doing that and I was concerned about the press/social media attention and the wellbeing of our partners, it was suggested that they could make it look like we kissed instead using camera angles.”
Faye and Hamish skated in week two to Taylor Swift’s romantic hit Lover.
At the end of the routine, the camera withdraws and the pair look extremely close.
Shortly after, Hamish injured his hand and long-serving professional skater Matt Evers replaced him as Faye’s skating partner.
He also famously clashed with Caprice in the 2020 series and the pair accused each of bullying, with an ITV investigation launched and Hamish eventually replaced by professional skater Oscar Peter.
Following the back-to-back negative experiences on Dancing On Ice he was told he would not be returning.
Breaking the news of his exit, Hamish said in October: “Hi everyone. I’m sad to confirm that I’m not returning to Dancing On Ice this year. The producers told me that they weren’t bringing me back because they wanted to freshen up the lineup.
“I was completely surprised by their decision and I’ve been left confused and struggling to make sense of everything that’s happened.”
The TV star added in a second post last night: “Honestly, things have been difficult recently.
“It doesn’t help that almost every time I go to the rink to coach or train there’s a team from DOI there so I can’t really get away from it (there are three teams training at the rink I coach at).
“I’m so grateful though that I get to spend more time skating with Amelia and I also love working with my students.”

Hamish, who once reached the final with X Factor runner up Saara Aalto, had been in the Dancing on Ice professional line-up for a number of years.
Following Sunday’s 2022 Dancing On Ice launch fans took to Twitter to bemoan his absence.
One posted: “Just hit me real hard that Hamish won’t be on dancing on ice this series.”
Another angry and upset viewer tweeted: “Dancing on Ice doesn’t feel right without Hamish I miss him.”
A third commented: “Dancing on Ice won’t be the same without Hamish.”
After being dumped by DOI last year, Hamish recorded two stories for mental health and wellness app Yours.
The Sun has contacted ITV for comment.
