CHRISTINE McGuinness is used to laughs given that her husband is former Phoenix Nights funnyman Paddy.
But the model has revealed how she was reduced to tears last year after being humiliated on a comedy series.
Christine said the show’s female co-host overstepped the mark with her insulting “banter”.
She chose not to name the woman or the show while revealing her trauma in her autobiography, Christine McGuinness: A Beautiful Nightmare, out now.
But I’ve been told the encounter happened on Joel Dommett‘s ITV2 series Hey Tracey! and the culprit was his virtual assistant, played by comedian Donna Preston.
Christine claims she was “bullied” after being greeted with the line: “I’ve got no f***ing idea who you are. I don’t care who you are, I don’t know who you think you are, and I don’t know what you’re even doing here.”
Christine said: “One of the directors came to check on me afterwards.
“I guess, as much as I tried to hide my devastation, I was mortified.”
As soon as she left the studio, she called Paddy “in floods of tears”.
She continued: “I rang my husband, sobbing. I was so upset.”
Christine’s manager stopped the exchange from airing in the final edit, arguing with the show’s producers that it wouldn’t reflect well on all involved.
Former Real Housewives Of Cheshire star Christine claims the co-host tried to defend her harsh humour, saying it was “part of the show” and “we have to banter”, while also saying she was “a big fan” of Paddy’s.
She adds that the co-host contacted her on social media afterwards to apologise again, but it fell on deaf ears.
Christine explained: “I didn’t reply and haven’t spoken to her since.
“I’m not a bully and I don’t pick on anybody, so I don’t want to associate myself with somebody like that.”
No Christmas card for her, then . . .
DERMOT O’Leary and Alison Hammond have been mopping up more and more shifts on This Morning – but she’s ruled herself out of doing the gig full-time.
I told last month how ITV see the duo as the future of the show after their success hosting Friday editions in place of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – but Alison can’t see it happening because of her commute.
She lives in Birmingham with son Aiden, 16.
Chatting on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2 yesterday, she said: “Let me just say I don’t think Holly and Phillip should go anywhere first of all. And I don’t think I would replace them.
“It’s mainly because I live in Birmingham, it would be too much to go every single day.”
Alison would be amazing full-time – but family must come first.
LEGENDARY newsreader Moira Stuart has signed up for the Strictly Christmas special.
She’ll dance with Aljaz Skorjanec. Popstar Anne-Marie will partner Graziano Di Prima.
They will join celebs including Jay Blades and Mel Giedroyc on the dancefloor.
HE’S turned his back on Emmerdale for a stint in the I’m A Celebrity castle.
But before leaving Yorkshire for North Wales, Danny Miller filmed some final shocking scenes.
My photo shows the heartbreaking moment his character Aaron Dingle discovers his partner Ben Tucker’s lifeless body.
Ben was murdered by serial killer Meena after she realised that he had discovered shocking video footage that could be used to incriminate her for a previous crime.
Viewers will see how Aaron copes without Ben by his side – and if Meena will get away with yet another murder.
Tune in to ITV tonight at 7pm to watch.
IF you feel November 25th is still way too soon for yuletide images, look away now.
Because these scenes from the Not Going Out Christmas special are fabulously festive.
The gang donned pantomime costumes for their roles.
Jason Donovan guests as Prince Charming, while Lee Mack is a Buttons-style servant character.
Sally Bretton is Lucy, playing Cinderella.
Geoffrey Whitehead, Deborah Grant and Abigail Cruttenden are all dressed up, too.
But Hugh Dennis drew the short straw as the panto dame.
No surprises, former Joseph star Jason is in another Technicolor Dreamcoat.
HER last role helped make The Drowning Channel 5’s most-watched programme of 2020.
So the channel’s chiefs will be hoping for more of the same as Jill Halfpenny signs up for another thriller based on author TM Logan’s books.
The former Corrie and Waterlook Road actress takes the lead role of Kate in The Holiday.
Kate’s dream family break becomes a nightmare when she learns her husband is having an affair with her best friend. Then someone in her villa turns killer.
Killing Eve’s Owen McDonnell plays the cheating husband in the four-part show, which will air early next year.
Sunshine, love affairs and murder?
Sounds right up my street.
HE’S famously outspoken – but Jeremy Clarkson has no plans to air his views as a politician.
Not for fear of the workload, but because MPs’ salaries are way below his telly rates.
Chatting on The Jonathan Ross show on Saturday, The Grand Tour host said: “No. They don’t get paid very much.”
SHE’S universally known as being stunningly gorgeous, but that didn’t save Joanna Lumley from a hilarious back-handed compliment by an old woman in Rome.
The Ab Fab star, who was filming her travel show Secret Cities, said: “It became impossible to do huge journeys throughout lockdown so we did some small journeys and we did some travelling around, which was gorgeous.
“I’ve been travelling to Berlin, to Paris and to Rome.
And it was in the Italian city that feisty Joanna, right, met her match.
She added: “In Rome, this old woman came up to me and she said, ‘I so like your shows. I like your programmes’. I said, ‘Thank you’, and she said, ‘You are a beautiful woman’.
“I said, ‘Thanks so much’.
“But just as she was leaving she said, ‘I wish that when I am old, I look your age’. Ouch!
