ANTHEA Turner has revealed her love of surgery and admitted “I haven’t looked angry since I was 40.”
The TV presenter, now 61, said she regularly has Botox and filler injections to keep her looking young.
Anthea, who has been divorced twice, told ITV’s Lorraine today: “I had my boobies done, I swear by Botox, I haven’t looked really angry since I was 40, and you know I’ve been angry!
“Whether it’s a little bit of filler, or a little bit of Botox, but it depends on who is holding the needle.”
Anthea’s eight-year marriage to her then-manager, former DJ Peter Powell, ended in divorce in 1998 after she embarked on an affair with married businessman Grant Bovey.
The TV star went through several gruelling and unsuccessful rounds of IVF treatment before her second marriage ended in 2015 when Grant had an affair.
Anthea has reflected on her relationship with her appearance and diet in an extract from her new book, serialised in for The Sun.
She writes in How To Age Well: The Secrets By Anthea Turner: “During my 20s, nutrition and health weren’t a huge consideration. I ate what I wanted, spent a lot of time jumping up and down in high-leg leotards, and if I ever put on weight, I just cut back for a couple of days.
“Nowadays, I’ve mostly eliminated processed foods from my diet, I have a collagen drink each night to keep my joints supple, vitamin D to support my immune system, and when I wake up, I have prebiotic powder mixed into a probiotic kefir drink to help keep my gut healthy and protect against age-related inflammation, which can lead to major health problems.
“I wear SPF50 on my neck, face and the backs of my hands.
“I’ve also had a few age spots zapped from my arm using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).
“I haven’t had surgery on my face, but I had a boob job years ago – and you can’t beat Botox for holding back the years. But keep it soft – I don’t want the tight-faced look that some people end up with.
“I do Pilates and occasionally run for an hour, but it’s what I do daily that keeps me toned. When I walk, I throw my shoulders back to engage my core and tighten my stomach muscles.
“Sometimes I walk my dog wearing 2kg ankle weights. To me, exercise is not a chore!”
Anthea had her breasts enlarged in 2008 and spoke about the surgery during her stint on Dancing On Ice in 2013.
She told The Sun: “I had them done years ago, because mine were saggy.”
