SUN-STARVED Brits are snapping up package holidays abroad this half term, thanks to the relaxation of travel rules.
The government announced on Friday that the traffic light system will be scrapped and replaced with two lists – go and don’t go.

It also moved hot holiday favourites Turkey and Egypt off the red list this morning – making trips viable again.
But most importantly, pricey PCR tests for returning travellers are soon to be scrapped in favour of cheaper lateral flow tests, and holidaymakers will no longer have to take a test before coming home.
In response to the news, tour operators are dropping prices on short-haul holidays in a last-minute push to take Brits on a sunshine break this year.
Deals with Jet2 and Thomas Cook to Spain and Greece are currently at rock-bottom prices from £242pp to the beautiful Balearic Islands.
With Turkey and Egypt back on the cards, holidaymakers have even more options for a spot of autumn or winter sun.
Both destinations are perfect for a dose of Vitamin D later in the year, as they tend to stay warm well into winter, and deals are currently super cheap too – from £286pp for a week’s break in Turkey this October.
A hub for resort-based holidays, TUI has all-inclusive trips to Sharm from £599pp this half term, with an extra £100 off bookings over £800 before the end of October using the code SUNSHINE online.
