GLENN HODDLE sent his well wishes to Christian Eriksen after he collapsed during Denmark’s match against Finland on Saturday.
The pundit also praised those who performed CPR on the midfielder, stating that they were responsible for saving Eriksen’s life.
Denmark captain Simon Kjaer also put his teammate in the recovery position and ensured his airways were clear by the time medical personnel were able to help Eriksen.
Hoddle knows how valuable the CPR was for Eriksen as he himself was saved after suffering a heart attack in 2018.
In a tweet late last night Hoddle said: “Thank God Christian is OK. And to those who did the CPR, it’s simple you saved his life as I know so well.
“God bless you Simon D. for what you did for me, [I’m] loving every minute of my extra time! Stay strong Christian.”
Hoddle collapsed while working for BT Sport, minutes after he performed keepy-uppy on live TV.
He was saved by production crew member Simon Daniels, who performed life-saving mouth-to-mouth and CPR on the former England manager.
Witnesses feared Hoddle had died after failing to find a pulse, but a defibrillator was used on-scene and his life was saved.
Hoddle then had triple bypass surgery before returning as a pundit.
But he knows from experience that the crucial first steps taken by Eriksen’s teammates and the medical professionals likely saved the Inter Milan star.
The players, referee and medical team all responded in seconds to Eriksen’s collapse before treating him on the pitch and taking him to hospital, where he was able to speak to his teammates.
