IT’S been a while since Apple announced a big software update and fans are excited for iOS 15.
Apple hasn’t given word on when iOS 15 is coming out but there’s been lots of rumours and speculation already.
Most industry experts and analysts suspect iOS 15 will be launched in mid-September 2021.
Apple usually launches major software updates in September each year so this would make sense.
iOS 14 came out in September 2020 and brought with it some big changes to your Home-screen via widgets.
Apple is also known for mentioning upcoming software updates at its WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference).
That’s taking place from June 7 to 11 this year and may mean people will get to test the beta version of iOS 15 in June or July.
Rumours suggest iOS 15 will be compatible with the iPhone 7 and anything newer than that.
That means iPhone 6s owners will have to make do with iPhone 14, unless they upgrade their device.
Even the name ‘iOS 15’ is a rumour but industry experts seem confident Apple will stick with its usual numbers theme.
A fairly recent report suggested that iOS 15 will bring a redesigned Control Centre for iPhones and iPad.
It may also support dual biometric authentication for Touch and Face ID.
Dual biometric authentication means a user would have to use both Touch and Face ID to unlock a phone.
This rumoured feature may only be exclusive to the brand new iPhone that may launch alongside iOS 15.
As with all rumours, we won’t know for sure if the above is true until official word from Apple.
