DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE fallen in love with a waitress a lot younger than me.
We met when we were working in the same pub last summer.
We got on well and had a fleeting kiss after work one night. I am 31 and she is 19.
She had just split up from a boyfriend so said she wanted to take things slowly.
Since December we have only met for walks and shared a couple of kisses.
She started university in January where she is studying to be a nurse and has stopped replying to texts.
Now she says she isn’t ready for a relationship and only wants to be friends.
Should I wait for her? I’d be happy to as I’d like to have a family with her.
My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.

DEIDRE SAYS: I am sorry to say your time would be better spent getting out there and meeting people at the same life stage as you.
This young woman is only just setting out on adulthood and is at a different stage of her life.
As she has just started her course, I’m sure having a family won’t be anywhere near her horizon.
