BAD Bunny is one of the biggest artists on the planet.
From his humble beginning in Almirante Sur, Puerto Rico, the rapper-singer has taken the reggeaton world by storm.
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known by his stage name Bad Bunny, is a Puerto Rican reggeaton artist.
He has collaborated with artists including J Balvin, Ozuna, Farruko, El Alfa, Arcángel and Daddy Yankee.
As a child he was shy and described himself to Rolling Stone as being a wallflower, though he developed a reputation at school for coming up with creative raps.
He was raised going to a Catholic church and knew from a young age he wanted to be a singer, so would sing in the choir.
Bad Bunny, 26, has released three studio albums: X 100pre (2018) and YHLQMDLG (2020), El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo, plus a joint album with J Balvin titled Oasis.
His biggest tracks include Yo Perreo Sola, La Romana, Ignorantes, La Noche De Anoche, all of which are sung in Spanish.
His stage name “Bad Bunny” was awarded to him because of a childhood picture that circulated the internet in which he’s dressed as a rabbit.
Sporting a not-so-happy face in the picture, he created a Twitter account under the handle Bad Bunny, using the picture as his display pic.
When Bunny gained more notoriety the name stuck.
Bad Bunny is the the most streamed artist on Spotify globally.
His album YHLQMDLG, which released in February 2020, was the number one streamed album on Spotify last year.
Bad Bunny beat the likes of Drake, The Weeknd, J Balvin, and late rapper Juice WRLD, to claim the number one spot.
He announced he would be embarking on a world tour titled El Último Tour del Mundo 2022—a tour named after his 2020 studio album of the same name.
The tour’s name is translated as “The Last World Tour.”
The tour will see the artist travel across North America in a two-month period between February and April of next year.
It has been confirmed that tickets will go on sale on April 16 at 12 pm.
The rap star will be performing in Washington, DC, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Jose, Seattle, Portland, Englewood, Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas, Houston, Hidalgo, El Paso, Denver, Rosemont, Villaldivia, Newark, Brooklyn, Boston, Charlotte Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami.
His announcement video for the tour saw a cameo appearance from WWE star Triple H, who praised Bad Bunny’s performance in the ring at WrestleMania 37 earlier this month.
Some rumors have suggested that this may be Bad Bunny’s final tour, given some recent cryptic clues from the rapper implying he could be close to calling time on his music career.
