DEAR DEIDRE: MY girlfriend knows there’s a local school where teachers are being told not to report cases of Covid-19 among the staff.
She used to work there but changed schools because she didn’t agree with their policies.
My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.

She’s 37 and I’m 39, and recently she’s had to take time away from her new job because our daughter tested positive for Covid-19.
When she mentioned it to ex-colleagues and said she’d be staying at home but teaching via Zoom, they said they weren’t allowed to take time off because of Covid-19 and were actively encouraged by the headteacher to keep it quiet.
She also thinks that the numbers of children testing positive at her old school are being played down.
Can she complain to anyone about this?
DEIDRE SAYS: These are serious breaches of Covid-19 guidelines and she is right to be concerned.
She can complain through her union if she is a member, or through the gov.uk website – where she can look for Government Organisations/Education complaints procedure.
Her old colleagues are risking everyone’s health, so their concerns should also be addressed to the governors of the school.
