HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to a young couple found dead in a house near Glasgow.
Two bodies were found within a property on Station Road, Milngavie, at 11.30am on Sunday.
The pair have now been named locally as personal trainer Gerry Mooney 26, and Bethany McManus, 20.
A police probe is underway and both deaths are currently being treated as “unexplained”.
A source said: “A lot of work is being carried out to establish exactly how they both died.”
Upon hearing the news, heartbroken pals have taken to social media to pay tribute to Gerry and Bethany.
Kimberley Mcsporran said: “Cannot actually believe what I heard a few hours ago that you are gone. Bethany Mcmanus you were one of the most funniest people I’ve ever known, we were always in fits of laughter.
“Up to mischief all the way through school and causing hassle. We have so many memories and laughs together. I’m in so much shock that you are actually gone.
“I was speaking to you 3 days ago, we were talking how different things are now compared to years ago. You are going to be so missed. Rest in peace beautiful girl.”
Chloe Anne wrote: “Still in absolute shock and can’t believe am having to write this. This lassie was a total god send and helped me through so much at some of my hardest times.
“I will forever remember all the good times we had sorry we never got that catch up, rip beautiful love you.”
Kelsea Ralton added: “Can’t believe what I’ve heard sleep tight Bethany Mcmanus we used to be close when we were younger known you for years it’s so sad sleep tight angel.”
And shocked friends of Gerry also took to social media to pay tribute to him
Donnamarie Guy said: “A very good childhood friend of mines and many others. We lost touch but anytime I seen you when I was over at my mums you would wave me down and always full of chat and wanting to know where I’d been or what I’ve been up to.
“Was literally just talking about you a few weeks ago talking about the good old times. Taken far young and too soon. You had your whole life ahead of you.”
Stacey Bain added: “Honestly can’t believe I’m writing this absolutely gutted man no words rip Gerry Mooney the memories will last a life time mate fly high.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report relating to the sudden deaths of two people – a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman – found within a property at Station Road in Milngavie around 11.30am on Sunday March 21.
“Both of their next of kin have been made aware.
“Their deaths are being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
Meanwhile, a man has died after being found injured in a Glasgow home.
Cops were called out to Conisborough Road, Easterhouse, at around 10.05pm last night.
The man was found injured but was then pronounced dead at the scene.
