DEAR DEIDRE: I USED to do everything with my daughter. Now she does everything with her little sister and I feel left out.
I’m a 59-year-old mum to three girls. They are 26, 22 and 20.
The eldest one was always my bestie. We’d go shopping together and out to restaurants.
My youngest daughter was more into her skateboard and hanging out with boys as she grew up, but since my eldest had a baby my younger daughter is with her sister all the time. She idolises her.
My youngest lives alone and is now in a bubble with my eldest.
They do things together and I’m never asked to join in. If I didn’t call my eldest, she’d never call me.
DEIDRE SAYS: Your children are a credit to you and it is brilliant that they get along so well.
They’re close enough in age to have lots in common.
The pandemic has made us all too aware of what is important and we are all missing a social life, but it would feel better for you to watch your daughters spending time together while you find friends of your own.
My support pack called Fifty Plus is packed with ideas of how to make some new friends once the social restrictions are lifted.
