THIS is the horrifying moment a woman was stabbed more than 30 times by her ex-boyfriend on a packed bus.
Harrowing CCTV images captured every single passenger, including the driver, fleeing the bus in Mexico without helping as the young woman hysterically screamed.
The 33-year-old victim, from Tenerife, cried out repeatedly as she was stabbed again and again by her estranged former boyfriend in the city of Culiacan, Sinaloa.
Footage from inside the bus shows all those on board run for the door before standing outside as the attack took place.
Remarkably, despite being stabbed more than 30 times, the woman survived because she had a very thick winter jacket that stopped the knife reaching any of her vital organs.
Her arms and hands were badly cut, however during the attack on Monday, February 15, reports local media.
Passengers only returned to aid the victim after her ex-boyfriend attempted to flee following the assault.
He was tackled and held down before police arrived.
He then attempted to kill himself, according to local media reports, but was detained and later given medical attention.
The Attorney General’s Office of Sinaloa has ordered the man be held in custody on charges of attempted femicide.
The attempted killing of the woman is part of a pattern of growing femicides in Mexico, which have increased by 137 per cent in the last five years, according to Mexico’s attorney general Alejandro Gertz Manero.
