The Stand ring shows if you’ve got up from your desk every hour, the Exercise ring helps you rack up 30 minutes of brisk activity, and the Move ring counts your calories.
Comes with heart rate monitoring, ECG tests capabilities and blood oxygen level measurements. Needs an iPhone.
IF your budget is a bit tighter then the SE may be for you.
It may lack some of the more advanced health metrics of the Series 6, such as the heart monitoring – but you can save £100.
And it has most features, like sleep tracking and fall detection – which means if you fall down hard the watch can call the emergency services.
BEST smartwatch for Android.
Known for its accurate counting of steps and calories, it also has the best sleep tracking.
Measures everything from circuit training to pilates.
Includes continuous heart tracking, ECG and stress monitoring. The latter tracks skin temperature to spot when you’re stressed – and offers a meditation session.
IF you prefer your smartwatch to look like a regular watch, the excellent ScanWatch is for you.
It has real hands and a smaller dial to count steps.
A circular screen is used for advanced metrics like ECG and blood oxygen – just press the dial and touch the display to watch your heart rhythm, saved to an app. Very classy.
WANT something a bit simpler? Huawei’s cute, affordable tracker will monitor your activity across 96 workout modes. And yet it is light, slim and fun to use.
What’s more it recharges fast – five minutes on the charger gives almost a day’s usage.
FITBIT offers a range of effective trackers, including this attractive one.
Though small, the battery lasts up to ten days and it can track more than 20 exercises, plus sleep.
It also offers a neat guided breathing feature, personalised to your heart rate.
This is a superbly lightweight device, so you barely know it’s there.
IF you like the look of the Apple Watch but your phone is an Android, this is similar, though with a button instead of Apple’s digital crown.
The software isn’t as advanced but there are workouts such as Morning Energiser and Bedtime Stretches.
Battery life is 24 hours, the same as Apple Watch, but lasts much longer in power-saving mode.
HALF the price of a rival Peloton, but just as good.
The key difference is you link to a tablet or phone for group workouts. Peloton has it built in.
