Employee wellbeing, logistics and emerging technologies are just some of those with opportunities in frontline jobs and support roles.

Andrew Hunter, of jobs site Adzuna, says: “The continued move online is driving demand for roles like delivery drivers and warehouse operatives, as well as cybersecurity specialists.
“We’re also seeing a greater focus on wellbeing and diversity within the workplace, and a growing need to support the mental health of employees.
“And science and tech will create opportunities — including for diagnostic and vaccine specialists as the Covid-19 vaccines are rolled out, and for experts working on technologies like electric cars.”
Here are seven top sectors that will be hiring this year . . .
VIRTUAL TEAM MANAGEMENT: New job titles include Head Of Remote and Director Of Wellbeing as firms look to hire experts to help them better manage working from home. There is also a rising demand for staff to run project management software such as Asana and Trello.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION: The impact of the Black Lives Matter movement means companies are creating roles for D&I executives.
DIAGNOSTICS AND VACCINES: There are more than 8,900 diagnostic vacancies across the UK and almost 300 for vaccine scientists, at pharmaceutical firms such as Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline.
LOGISTICS AND WAREHOUSING: Hiring is up 77 per cent since the pandemic hit, with 9,600 roles up for grabs right now.
ECO JOBS: The Government’s Green Industrial Revolution is predicted to create 250,000 jobs by 2050. Vacancies are up in areas such as the rollout of electric vehicle charge points and electric vehicle battery production. There are also more than 21,000 sustainability roles nationally.
DEFENCE, CYBER AND AI DEFENCE ROLES: Around 10,000 positions are being created in response to the Government’s largest military investment in 30 years. There are also 5,500 cybersecurity roles with online firms.
JOB COACHES: The Department of Work and Pensions is hiring 9,000 work coaches to support jobseekers. Recruitment runs until the end of March.
HERE is a spellbinding opportunity.
Northumberland’s Alnwick Castle, famous for starring as wizards’ school Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, is hiring 130 new recruits.
Roles range from historical interpreters and costumed tour guides, to till operators, ticketing assistants, cleaners and porters.
Susan Richardson, human resources manager at Alnwick Castle, said: “We are looking for enthusiastic team players, who can go that extra mile to help ensure our visitors have a great day out.”
ENTERPRISE NATION’S annual Start Up 2021 event for small businesses and entrepreneurs takes place online tomorrow.
THE average jobseeker has unsuccessfully applied for 16 roles during the pandemic.
As a result, 44 per cent have also seen their confidence levels nosedive, and only 20 per cent feel confident in their ability to stand out at inverview, found a report from BT Skills for Tomorrow, which provides free digital skills modules.
To help, BT has teamed up with experts and celebrities, including comedian and Love Island narrator Iain Sterling, to launch Stand Out Skills, providing jobseekers with free resources and advice.
Iain said: “As a stand-up comedian, I know it’s important to grab people’s attention from the start, and the same goes for your job application.”
