A WOMAN has been rescued after a tree fell through her home – landing between her and her husband as they slept.
Emergency crews released a woman who was pinned down in her bed inside her partially collapsed house in Washington state.
The drama unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Spokane during high winds.
Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer told KXLY said the house was hit by part of a tree, which had snapped off the trunk.
Photographs show the tree had speared between a husband and wife as they slept in their bedroom.
The woman was pinned and had to be delicately removed by firefighters.
She was taken to the hospital for a crush injury, but she is not in a life-threatening condition.
Her son said she suffered an injury to her arm.
Meanwhile, a woman was killed in Spokane when 70mph winds blew down a tree onto her car.
