CORONATION Street’s Yasmeen Nazir has been found not guilty of attempting to murder her abusive husband Geoff Metcalfe – but he wants her back.
The chef – who is played by actress Shelley King in the ITV soap – was cleared by the jury after they heard how Geoff had abused and controlled her over the last two years.
Geoff reacted with fury inside court, screaming: “Your soft in the head the lot of you.
“Don’t worry your honour, I’m removing myself. This entire thing is a farce.”
But far from being free of Geoff, Yasmeen’s hell was just beginning as he approached her outside the court as she left a free woman.
As she cowered with Alya, he told her: “Blimey I was about to give up on you.
“What do you fancy for your tea? Come on we can talk about it in the car. Come on, I’m on a meter, I don’t want to be charged for another hour.
“You’re going to need a lift home you daft mare. She’s coming home with me. She’ still my wife – nothing they said in there changes a thing sunshine, nothing.”
Yasmeen said: “He’s never going to let me go, is he?
“He’ll always be there, I’ll never be free.”
Fans were horrified for Yasmeen, and disgusted with Geoff.
One wrote: “Yasmeen will be well protected! There’s no way Geoff will hurt her again!”
A second said: “Geoff is really unhinged.”
Another added: “You will be Yasmeen don’t ever say that.”
Later Yasmeen visited the police to report Geoff’s abuse to them.
She told them: “I’d like to make a formal complaint against my husband.”
