A 16-YEAR-OLD girl who was killed after being hit by a car in Glasgow has today been remembered as “one in a million”.
Sophie Geddes was struck by the grey Ford Focus in Garscadden on Saturday night – suffering fatal injuries.
Police are now investigating the crash – with tributes beginning to flow for the popular schoolgirl.
Friends and family have taken to social media to remember the teen, with one writing: “My perfect big cousin, taken far too soon. Fly high my gorgeous.”
Another friend added: “My heart is in pieces. Never in a million years I thought I’d be writing about one of the girls, losing their precious life.
“Sophie was the weirdest, funniest, caring and amazing girl.”
A third added: “Taken far too soon Soph, you were one in a million.”
The crash unfolded on Great Western Road, near to its junction with Garscadden Road South about 7.45pm on Saturday.
Sophie was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but tragically died from her injuries.
The scene was closed off as cops rushed to the scene on Saturday.
Sergeant Grant MacIver said, Road Policing Glasgow, said: “We are appealing to drivers or pedestrians who were in the area at the time of the crash to get in touch. We are especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage as this could be very helpful to our investigation.
