DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER retiring, I would love to rekindle things in the bedroom but I’ve not talked about sex with my wife in years.
I guess with work pressures, health problems and boredom, things dwindled. I am 67 and she is 65.
My wife says she loves me but we haven’t been intimate in years [/caption]My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.
Send an email to problems@deardeidre.org.
Every problem gets a personal reply, usually within 24 hours weekdays.

Rejection would kill off my confidence for good.
My wife says she loves me and at times appears to want to be close but the moment passes.
DEIDRE SAYS: For now, take it slowly. Talk honestly about your hopes for the next phase of your lives. Put your arm around her when you sit together and hold hands when you go out.
If she seems surprised, say you enjoy being close to her. Suggest you start giving one another relaxing massages – maybe just neck and back at first but then all over.
It is great for helping stiff muscles but also at developing physical intimacy and raising the libido. My e-leaflet on Massage For Couples explains.
