LIGHT LAYERS: Sometimes you only need something light, and the denim shacket is bang on trend — you can get it for £20 at studio.co.uk, far cheaper than a similar one at Dorothy Perkins for £35. You could also layer up with a blazer. It is such a versatile item for day and evening alike. I like the Longline Fitted Single Breasted Black Blazer from laredoute.co.uk — half-price at £20, down from £40.

GOOD COATING: A trench coat is a wardrobe staple. I love the Long Cotton Water-Repellent Trench Coat from laredoute.co.uk, on sale for £59.40. But I opted for the Pimkie Short Length Beige Trench Coat from asos.com — on sale for £19.95, down from £24.99. That’s a steal.

NICE’N’THICK: For those cold mornings, you might need something thicker. Check out the Principles Black Dogtooth Cocoon Coat at debenhams.co.uk. It is super-trendy and on sale for £39.50, down from £79. Bargain! I also like the Black Fluid Women’s Long Padded Zip-Through Jacket from mandm direct.co.uk. At just £29.99 it is one of the cheapest puffer jackets I’ve seen.

FIT FOR A KING: For a coat for all weathers, take a look at tkmaxx.com — there are some real bargains, including the Pierre Cardin Navy All-Season 3-in-1 Performance Jacket, on sale for £44.99, down from its RRP of £165. It is only available in a large size online, so check in store for more availability.
For something lighter, the Blue Denim Jacket at burton.co.uk is on offer for £18.

THE cold weather will soon be here, so this Salter rose gold slow-cooker is just the ticket. It is £35, down from £41.99, at freemans.com.
