BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has already angered her bosses at the Beeb after she was caught moonlighting for a second time.
So it is a surprise to learn that on top of her £195,000 salary, she also charges a whopping £15,000 a time for speaking engagements.
BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty is charging £15,000 to speak at events on top of her £195,000 salary[/caption]Naga is on the books of leading international agency Speakers Corner and is in demand for jobs such as hosting business conferences.
The firm says of her skills: “Naga also has extensive live event experience, having hosted forums and interviews for both Bloomberg and the BBC, while corporate clients include numerous trade associations and financial organisations, chairing conferences, hosting awards and providing financial overviews on the economy.
“Naga makes an excellent addition to any corporate event, as host or speaker.”
She is one of a number of broadcasting heavyweights currently working on the speaking circuit.
Naga was warned about conflicts of interest by BBC bosses earlier this year[/caption]Former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell charges about £12,000 for an appearance, veteran newsreader Alastair Stewart asks £8,000 and Beeb journalists John Pienaar and Clive Myrie can be booked for £7,500 and £5,000.
Naga was warned about conflicts of interest earlier this year after she was paid to appear in a corporate PR video for the luxury car maker Aston Martin.
The presenter has now been given a second warning about “external engagements” after pocketing a fee for shooting a series of business interviews for NatWest bank.
The telling-off comes just days after new BBC director-general Tim Davie said there would be a crackdown on stars using their status at the BBC to make money working for private companies.
Bad news for Naga, then.

Lauren Goodger has joined ex Mark Wright and subbed the Towie reunion[/caption]A source said: “Lauren really appreciates everything the show did to launch her career and is never one to forget her roots.
“Sadly, she simply doesn’t have enough time in the day to do everything she would like.
“She couldn’t commit to filming schedules for the reunion, which made it impossible for her to sign up.”
It comes after Amy Childs, who is returning, blasted Mark for being a big head for missing the reunion.
She told me: “Towie basically made us all, so I think it’s only fair we come back to support the show’s ten-year anniversary.”
The old cast members seem to be dropping out like flies.
