BOOTS has brought back its popular “3for2” Christmas gifts offer after angering customers by changing its discounts last year.
The “3for2” deal sees customers get the cheapest item free when purchasing three products from Boots.
It’s proven popular in recent years with shoppers using the offer to bulk buy stocking fillers and presents for Christmas.
But customers were left disappointed last year after Boots started alternating its “3for2” deal with other discounts.
On certain days the retailer offer the traditional discount, while on others days it instead offered a blanket 25% off gifts and 15% off toys.
Some shoppers said at the time that the change left them spending more money, as they planned on buying gifts in bulk.
Boots was unable to confirm to The Sun if it’s ditched the shake-up of the scheme from last year, or if it plans on running different promotions once again in 2020.
But the “3for2” deals have gone live on the Boots website in time for this Christmas, although it couldn’t confirm if items are in stores yet. The website also says more gifts are yet to come.
Only select products are part of the “3 for 2” discount – they usually have a green Christmas present sticker on them in stores, or they’ll be clearly marked online.
One deal we’ve spotted online is a Soap & Glory giftset for £16, so purchase three of these and you’d pay £32 instead of £48 saving you £16.
You don’t have to choose gifts from the same brand though, and bear in mind it’s always the cheapest item you’ll get for free.
The money off for the cheapest item is applied automatically, so you don’t need to hand over a voucher or ask for the deal.
Other brands you’ll find currently in the “3for2” offer include Champneys, Ted Baker and Baylis and Harding.
Boots has around 2,500 stores around the UK. Use its store locator tool to find your nearest.
Delivery for online orders costs £3.50 on orders under £30, while anything over this amount is free.
Alternatively, you can click and collect in store for £1.50 if you’re spending less than £20, or it’s free on orders over this price.
Of course, just because an item is in the offer doesn’t mean you can’t buy it cheaper elsewhere, so compare prices online first to work out which retailer offers the best price.
