AN NHS worker told of the moment he was run over in an attack by racist thugs.
The 21-year-old was walking to the bus stop after his hospital shift when he was deliberately mown down by two men who then shouted racial abuse at him.
He has been left scarred for life following the attack which saw him suffer a broken right leg, nose and cheekbone and need plastic surgery to his face.
Doctors said the man, who wants to be known by K or Kdogg, would not have survived if he had not been a young and fit young man.
The aspiring rapper had been listening to Stormzy on his phone when he was hit by a dark blue Honda Accord and sent flying onto its bonnet in Bristol, last Wednesday.
He was pinned to railings by the car outside Southmead Hospital before horrified passersby came to his aid.
K said: “People came to help me off the wall I was on and I just remember bleeding,
“As I was helped off, I got laid on the floor and bandaged up.
“I want to thank the people who helped me because of how quickly they responded and how they rang the emergency services.
“Because obviously, if it wasn’t for them I’m not sure if I would be here.”
Doctors would not show him the extent of injuries to his face in the hospital so K saw them for the first time when he came home.
K has been repeatedly back to hospital for treatment but was discharged from hospital the day after the attack due to Covid-19.
There is grit and glass in his face which doctors have been unable to remove and the injuries are so severe he is unable to go upstairs at home.
While he waits for his wounds to heal, he is forced to sleep in a chair at a 45 degree angle.

He said: “When I got home I looked in the mirror and that’s when I saw it.
“I was like ‘Wow’.
“The doctor obviously said it’s going to heal but I’m going to have this for the rest of my life – marks on my face for the rest of my life.
“So just to know that this is literally going to be me for the rest of my life is obviously not nice.
“The doctor also said because I like exercising and stuff like that, if I wasn’t such a fit person, I would have died at the scene.
“Any small movements, anything I try and do right now is just proper painful, which is not pleasant at all.
“But the scars on my face are going to be there for life so I’m not really going to be recovered from this.”
The attack has left the keen musician in fear for his life and his family are worried he could be targeted again.
He said: “Obviously mentally as well, I’m traumatised. I don’t even know if it might happen again.
“No one has been arrested yet so the suspects are still at large.

“For my family, for them going to the shop and so on, they probably have started to feel like it’s not safe for them.
“Even some of my mates now, they’re kind of watching themselves every time they are on the road.
“They’re always looking around. In your life, it shouldn’t be having to look over your shoulder all the time and just not feel safe.
“It’s definitely affected me and my family and people around me in different ways.
“Even let’s say I recover, I don’t feel like I’m safe anymore to do anything.” K had no idea who had carried out the attack.
When asked if he was scared, he replied: “I definitely am.
“They could come to my house right now and anything could happen.” His stepfather, Edward, described those responsible as “cowards”.
Stepdad Edward said: “It is inhumane, totally inhumane.
“We are shattered.
“His mother is devastated, like any mother would be.
“He is a beautiful young man who has been attacked – it is terrible.”
The incident is being investigated by a dedicated team at Avon and Somerset Police, who are being supported by officers from the force’s Major Crime Investigation Team.
On Wednesday, Neighbourhood Inspector Lorna Dallimore said they were “making good progress to identify those responsible”.
“I’d like to reiterate that a full investigation is being carried out and at this time, there is no intelligence or information to indicate there’s a further risk to the public,” she said.
“Thankfully incidents like this are rare, and if anyone has concerns or worries then I would urge them to speak to officers with their local neighbourhood policing team.”
