GOING on a camping holiday anytime soon?
Post-lockdown will see many of us opting for a staycation — and caravan owners will likely want to get their mobile homes back on the road.
Here’s how to glam up your camper for less[/caption]But, if yours has seen better days, it may not feel like such a nice trip to take.
Thankfully, with a few savvy fixes you can spruce up your caravan on the cheap . . .
Throw-stoppers: Jazz up dull interiors with fun scatter cushions or throws.Plus, they make lounging about extra-comfy.
I love the Pom Pom cushions sold at Wilko for £8 each. They arefar cheaper than similar versions sold at John Lewis for £18.
You can get a well- matched Carlton Pom Pom Knit throw at Dunelm for £9, down from £18.
SAVE: £10 on cushions
Vinyl touches: If your caravan’s carpet has seen better days, then consider ripping it out and replacing it with a vinyl alternative. This will be easier to keep clean and will also add a modern finish. Ukflooringdirect.co.uk has some great deals.
I really like the Spectra Mountain Cliff Oak Plank Vinyl, £22.99 per square metre, down from £28.99. Plus, you can get an extra five per cent off using code SITEWIDE5.
If you want to, why not add cosy touches with rugs once the vinyl is down?
Wayfair.co.uk has a wide selection onsale.
SAVE: at least £6 per square metre on vinyl.
No messin’: If your caravan has been parked under any trees, you will probably have some splodges of bird poo or tree sap, which can erode paintwork.
Get your getaway home gleaming by cleaning these off on the cheap — you don’t need to fork out for a pricey product.
Get things sparkling by stirring 200ml of washing-up liquid and two tablespoons of baking soda into a bucket of water.
Pour this over the splatters and let it soak for a couple of minutes before rinsing.
Got you covered: If you don’t mind a bit of a project, you may want to consider upholstering your caravan’s sofa area.
You can choose any fabric that takes your fancy to give yourinterior the perfect lift.
Crushed velvet is popular with influencers and celebs at the moment, and you can pick up a grey style from justfabrics.co.uk for £23.38 per metre, usually £38.
SAVE: £14.62 per metre
THE summer sale is live at Accurist.co.uk with 50 per cent off selected watches. I like this men’s chronograph watch for £79.99, down from £159.99.
SAVE: £80
MICHELLE HARRISON, from Stockport, says: “I will be using some of my Sun Savers fivers to pay for my parents’ TV licence later in the year.”
YOU can save 25 per cent on Rude Health drinks at Holland & Barrett, including its Ultimate Almond drink, now £2.99, down from £3.99.
