DEAR DEIDRE: MY son keeps gambling away all his earnings and now he’s spent his savings too.
He’s a student and worked in a bar before lockdown. He was furloughed so he spends a lot of time in his room playing poker online.
My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.
Send an email to problems@deardeidre.org.
Every problem gets a personal reply, usually within 24 hours weekdays.
You can also send a private message on the DearDeidreOfficial Facebook page.

I’m his mum, am 45 and he’s 20.
He admitted last year he had a gambling problem and agreed to pay his wages to me while I sent him supermarket gift cards for food.
But yesterday he admitted opening a new bank account because his savings had gone.
He told me £500 of his furloughed wages had gone within hours.
DEIDRE SAYS: It’s a good sign your son has opened up to you about his gambling because admitting he has a problem is the first step on the road to getting help and sorting it.
He can find support to stop via GamCare (gamcare.org.uk, 0808 8020 133).
My e-leaflet Gambler In The Family will help you both.
