FACEBOOK content moderators working with Accenture are reportedly required to review 48 extra minutes of child abuse every day to meet increased quotas.
Moderators employed by the contracting firm received a series of emails in late May and early June saying they had to review 6.3 hours of content a day instead of 5.5 hours.

The increase in hours was due to a renewed contract between Accenture and Facebook, according to Business Insider.
More specifically to align Accenture with “global partners as well as our partners in MVW”, referencing the Mountain View, California Facebook office.
The emails suggests the Mountain View office was already having moderators view content 6.3 hours a day.
Hundreds of outsourced moderators for Facebook would be affected by the changes.

In order help remove content that violates social media company’s policies, content moderators watch extremely disturbing and unpleasant content on the internet for hours daily.
The treatment of outsourced moderators has been scrutinized when low wages and oppressive working conditions for Facebook moderators working at Cognizant was exposed by The Verge in 2019.
Additionally, Facebook agreed to settle a lawsuit with a former moderators last month by paying $52 million to current and former moderators who developed mental-health conditions on the job.

According to Business Insider, Facebook and Accenture have denied instruction to increase production hours.
A Facebook representative told Business Insider that they had not increased guidance for production hours with any partners.
A representative from Accenture agreed.
“Facebook hasn’t changed our requirements for working hours,” they said. “As always, we continue to provide our team members proactive and on-demand resiliency support. Our people are encouraged to use these services at any time, without restriction.”
