BIG Brother is the OG of reality TV.
It might not be on TV anymore, but it certainly spawned some very interesting characters over the years.
In 2000 11 unsuspecting people entered the Big Brother compound, unaware they would be changing TV forever.
The show ended in 2018 but during its time on air introduced us to 253 housemates
Here we take you through the ones that we can never forget:
Nick was the villain we all loved to hate and was the first ever housemates who was asked to leave the house – not evicted.
Known as Nasty Nick by viewers, Nick tried to manipulate housemates into nominating each other so he could win the prize money.
He passed notes (god forbid!) and it got him the boot.
Now: Over the years Nick has played on his “nasty” nickname and has played the villian in several pantomimes.
Lovable Craig won the hearts of the nation when he confronted Nick about his note passing.
And if that wasn’t enough the builder, who was 28 at the time, famously gave his prize money to his friend with Down’s syndrome, Joanne Harris, to pay for her heart and lung transplant.
Now: Since winning the show Craig has used the fact he is a builder by trade to his advantage.
He has gone on to forge a successful media career as a DIY and home improvement expert, and has hosted a number of design shows.
Brian shot to fame in 2001 when he entered the house and he soon became a fan favourite.
The former air steward is the only contestant to have won BB twice -winning BB2 and Ultimate BB.
Brian came out to his parents two weeks before entering the BB house.
Now: Brian went on to host Big Brother when it changed from Channel 4 to Channel 5 but was axed after he presented 6 seasons the show being replaced by current host Emma Willis.
Back in 2001, Helen came in second after Brian.
The Welsh beauty will be forever remembered for saying: “I like blinking, I do.”
She is also known for her relationship with Paul in the house.
The pair broke up after 5 years of being together in 2006.
Now: After their split, Helen reportedly moved to Portishead, near Bristol, where she now works as a hair stylist.
After the show she made some TV appearances, on Loose Women, GMTV, and as a celeb chef on Ready, Steady, Cook.
Kate was a HUGE hit with viewers when she entered the house back in 2002.
She went on to become the first ever female winner of the show.
Now: Kate is now a very successful radio presenter and you can listen to her on weekday afternoons on Virgin Radio.
Back in 2002, Jade came 3rd in BB3.
Despite having a rocky start to her time in the house, viewers came to love her with her naive charm.
A favourite with the press, Jade went on to become the most successful BB housemate of all time launching her own perfume, book series and television show.
However, Jade nearly lost it all when she appeared alongside other favourite past contestants in Ultimate Big Brother and was involved in a “race row” with Indian actress Shilpa Shetty.
Now: Sadly Jade passed away in 2007 of cervical cancer at the age of 27.
She is credited with saving thousands of women’s lives who got checked after her death.
Michelle became the first housemate to have sex on BB
She and her in-house lover Stuart ‘Chicken Stu’ Wilson were thought to have been the first couple to bonk on the show, but when questioned about it in her exit interview she said “no comment”.
They dated for a bit but split in 2007.
Now: Michelle ended up being a TV presenter on Television X’s The Fantasy Channel.
The sixth series saw another saucy housemate in the form of Makosi.
She who had some under-water fun in the house hot tub with Anthony and later declared on the show that she could be pregnant.
Now: After the show she went on to get her own current affairs show in Nigeria called Makosi Today.
The lovable Pete, who lives with Tourette’s syndrome, won BB7 and had a relationship with Nikki during, and briefly after, the show ended.
Now: Pete revealed after BB ended that the show was like rehab for him as he was addicted to drugs such as LSD.
Nikki became a break-out star of the show after several of her tantrums had viewers in hysterics and came 5th place on BB7.
Who can forget her screaming at Big Brother for being cold, and of course that now infamous line: “Who is she? Whrre did you find her?!”
Now: Nikki went on to host her own show Princess Nikki and won a National Television Award for being a standout contestant.
She was also a regular panellist on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.
We just LOVED the no-nonsense Aisleyne who finished 3rd in BB8.
She was chosen to live in the “House Next Door” and select new housemates to join the Big Brother house.
Now: Aisleyne is probably one of the most wealthy of all former housemates.
She has an incredible property portfolio in London and has previously had a column for The Sun.
Who could forget the hapless Brian, who declared he didn’t know who Shakespeare was.
He was the youngest ever winner of BB8 winner and was simply adorable.
Now: Since then, he has become an internet columnist for entertainment magazine, Heat magazine, as well as entertainer for Harry Hill’s TV Burp.
Chanelle ruffled more than a few feathers during her time in the house.
She will mainky be rememebered for her romance with the handsome Ziggy, during her time in the house.
Now: Chanelle has managed to keep herself in the press since she left the house all of those years ago.
Her weight loss journey has also been well documented in the headlines.
Josie won BB 11 with a whopping 77% of the public vote, the highest win in the history of the show.
Fans loved her girl next door attitude, quirky accent and relationship with John James.
Josie was favourite to win Ultimate Big Brother, which started straight after BB11, but walked out after 3 days.
Now: Josie has tried her hand at a number of different things since leaving the Big Brother house. Her perfume, Josie, was released in 2011 along with limited edition hoodies on her website.
She also writes a regular column for Now magazine and was a showbiz reporter for OK! TV.
Helen managed to win the show despite viewers not being keen on her.
The former escort, first came to prominence back in 2011 when it was alleged she’d had a threesome with footballer Wayne Rooney.
Now: After winning the show, she secured a Daily Star column, and also released a tell-all autobiography.
Despite being a late arrival to the show, Isabelle won over the nation.
She is probably best known for her orange tan.
Now: After winning the series, the star, now 24, went on to donate some of her winnings to charity.
She also founded a beauty salon and Summer Bunny Studio & Training.
Seeking to entertain us in lockdown, Big Brother: Best Shows Ever will hit screens THIS SUNDAY (June 14, 2020).
It will be on E4 at 9pm to 10.15pm.
There are 10 episodes in total.
They will run each week from Sunday to Thursday for two weeks.
