IF you’ve ever awkwardly scrubbed your oven door trying to get to the grime in all the corners – turns out you’ve been cleaning it all wrong.
You don’t need special tools or a flexible arm to get the door gleaming, as a woman revealed the simple way to remove the glass from the oven to clean it – after struggling for 20 years.
If this is a familiar sight when cleaning your oven, you’ve been doing it wrong[/caption]She claimed she would end up using kitchen towels and skewers to try and get into every nook, until her husband showed her how to easily remove the glass.
The woman shared her tip to social media, where she claimed her ‘mind has been blown’ – and it seems others didn’t know you could remove the glass either.
She said: “Sorry for those of you that already knew this but OMG my mind has been blown.
“Over 20 years of cleaning ovens and could never get the door cleaned properly because of the second layer of glass.
Turns out you can simply ‘unclip’ the glass from the door[/caption]“Here I am scrubbing away trying to use paper towel and a skewer to get in between the two layers of glass, and hubby walks along and just un-clips it for me.
“I was so blown away by it… So for those of you that may have a similar oven with two levels of glass and didn’t know how to remove it, attached is a video”, the Mail quoted.
Her revelation has gone down a storm online, as people immediately tried to remove their own oven doors – with success.
Commenting on her post, one woman said: “Just tried my own oven door. Not for one minute did I believe I could do this. It works! It’s true.”
She shared a video showing her husband effortlessly removing the glass to clean[/caption]Someone else wrote: “That’s amazing! Thanks so much! I just checked mine and it worked. I can’t believe I never knew this.”
A third person raved: “Life saver! You just changed my life… just went and checked and yes, the glass pops out.”
While this woman asked: “Why has it been kept secret? How much time, pain and frustration would that knowledge have saved? Wow.”
The woman was in shock after struggling to clean the oven for 20 years[/caption]But before you get excited about the prospect of scrubbing your own oven, one person pointed out: “Only some oven doors un-clip.
“Others are held together with screws but it’s a complete game changer though.”
So before you start trying to take apart your oven door, make sure to read the manual first.
