BROCK LESNAR is reportedly set to make his grand return to WWE at SummerSlam in August.
The Beast Incarnate has been absent from Vince McMahon’s company since losing to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 back in April.
Yet according to Ringside News, despite there being no concrete plans on his comeback, Lesnar is likely to get back into the ring for SummerSlam.
WWE’s self-titled biggest show of the summer may have to be moved from its original Boston setting due to the continued absence of fans following the coronavirus pandemic.
That would mean another of the company’s “Big Four” pay-per-views would have to air behind closed doors at the Performance Center in Florida.
And in such a case, it was feared that utilising Lesnar on these audience-less shows would be a waste of the former UFC champ’s star power.
Yet Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer recently revealed that the Beast will be booked for SummerSlam even without fans.
WWE Chairman and CEO McMahon claimed last month that Lesnar is the reason for the dramatic fall in Raw’s ratings.
The American billionaire was rumoured to be planning a dream match between the ex-Universal champion and Bobby Lashley.
The 43-year-old, who has been vocal about facing his ex-MMA rival since his return to WWE in 2018, was languishing in a love triangle storyline with Lana and Rusev.
But following the Bulgarian Brute’s exit from the company, Lashley has since enjoyed a fresh push under manager MVP.
