THEIR on/off romance dominated the Towie storyline back in 2010, and today Lauren Goodger has claimed that her and ex-fiance Mark Wright are just “like Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston”.
The reality star, 33, said that just like Hollywood’s golden couple, “people will always be interested” in her and Mark.
The former couple got together when they were childhood sweethearts, but had a bitter break up which was aired on the ITVBe show.
Speaking about their split to this week’s Closer magazine she said: “The whole show was about my love life and girls could relate to me.
“I was hurt, I was in love, and engaged. That relationship lasted 12 years, ten years prior to Towie, and two years during it.
She went on: “It was a genuine relationship – there was so much that happened off camera. It wasn’t all bad, but obviously we were making a TV show.
“It’s annoying getting dragged into my ex’s life, but I understand it’s a massive part of where we started, and people will always be interested.
“It’s like other people in the public eye, like Brad and Jennifer. I get it, but it goes over my head now.”
Lauren got together with Mark from the age of 15 and the couple even got engaged on the show in 2011, but they split just five months later.
Since then they have regularly said negative things about each other in the press.
Mark went on to marry actress Michelle Keegan in 2015.
Lauren is still single, but since Mark she’s had a romance with former jailbird Joey Morrison and an on-off relationship with Jake McLean.
However she has admitted that she is ready to find love again, and this time to a man in uniform.
Lauren said: “I’d love a man in a uniform, like a doctor or a policeman. Those types of men are heroes.”
