AARON RAMSEY admits he ditched Arsenal from Juventus to escape his “comfort zone” after eleven years without winning the title.
The Welsh midfielder, 29, swapped London for Turin on a free transfer last summer when his Emirates contract came to an end.
Ramsey spent 11 years with the Gunners after a move from Cardiff, winning two FA Cups in the process but failing to get his hands on the coveted Premier League trophy.
And his Italian job with perennial champs Juve is well under way after clocking up 24 appearances under new boss Maurzio Sarri.
Ramsey admits it was impossible to snub Juventus’ offer when it arrived at his door.
And the Wales star believes he was no longer pushing himself after spending over a decade in the red of Arsenal.
Ramsey told Foot Truck: “Juventus is a massive club, one of the top teams around in the world so when they come calling for you it’s hard to turn them down.
“I was in a position where I was at a club for a very long time and I fancied a change to get out of my comfort zone to learn a new language, hopefully very slowly.
“Again to test myself in a different league and all the cup competitions we’re still in.
“We’re a top team and hopefully we can go far in many things and win many trophies and titles here.”
Also part of the conversation was Juve teammate Wojciech Szczesny, who made the move to Italy from Arsenal too – albeit two years earlier.
He added: “When you come here you get the feeling of how important it is to win.
“When you change the club you arrive at some point in your career where you just want to win trophies.
“It’s good being part of a young project of hopes for the future, but we’re both 29 and at some point you’ve got six or seven years left and you just want to win the title, fight for Champions League and challenge yourself.
“It’s not good just playing for the same team for ten or 20 years and winning nothing.
“You’ve [Ramsey] won a little bit, you’ve scored a couple of goals at Wembley.”
