THE Walking Dead boss has teased Maggie Rhee’s return – as Beta takes control of The Whisperers.
The latest episode of the hit AMC drama is serving as a temporary season 10 finale after the actual final episode was delayed in post-production because of the coronavirus pandemic.
However, fans have got plenty to sink their teeth into after a dramatic episode saw the survivors camped out in an old hospital building as Beta – the new leader of The Whisperers – lead his group to surround them.
While viewers will have to wait an indefinite amount of time to see what happens next, show runner Angela Kang has hinted at a few things they can expect to see, including what happened to Maggie.
The character – played by Lauren Cohan – was last seen on screen at the mid-point of season nine and Angela has revealed viewers will get some answers regarding her whereabouts.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said: “We’ll see that Maggie is…. We’ll know what’s happened with her and what that means for our group.”
Meanwhile Angela gave more of an insight into Beta’s mindset now he’s in charge of The Whisperers following Alpha’s murder at the hands of Negan.
Viewers witnessed the character – played by Ryan Hurst – hearing a voice, and Angela said: “We’ll find out more about this voice speaking to Beta.
“But he’s got his half Alpha face and he seems to be guided by voices.
“What we know about Beta is that now that he’s taken leadership of the group, this is what his version of being the Alpha is and it’s, in its own way, disturbing and it’s uniquely Beta.”
She continued: “We’ll see some more of the new characters as they’re featured this season, and we will see more of the epic conflict we’ve been witnessing all season with the survivors and the Whisperers.
“Our people are obviously on this collision course with the Whisperer horde.
“We will see Beta doing his thing as the leader of the Whisperers, hell bent on his revenge.”
