ARSENAL are confident they can extend Dani Ceballos’ deal if coronavirus sees the Premier League season extended beyond June 30.
The Spaniard is on loan from Real Madrid and is set to return at the end of this campaign.
But after coronavirus saw the season suspended until April 30 – with many expecting the football blackout to continue after that date – Ceballos‘ future was cast into doubt.
However, senior Arsenal figures are not concerned by the situation and are confident Real Madrid will not block an extension, according to the Standard.
There is said to be no option-to-buy clause in the deal with the 23-year-old keen to break into Los Blancos’ first XI.
The Gunners will reportedly have to fork out £36million to make the move permanent in the summer.
Ceballos has made 14 Premier League appearances since he signed in July.
He made an impressive start to life in North London under the management of Unai Emery.
Especially in a man-of-the-match display in his first home game against Burnley in August.
And his incredible spell of form saw him recalled to the Spain side.
But he was struck down with a hamstring injury during the clash at Vitoria Guimares on November 6.

Following his stint on the sidelines, Ceballos struggled to get back to his best for the Gunners.
Reports claimed he asked Real Madrid to terminate his loan deal with Mikel Arteta’s side.
It looked like his days in North London were numbered, but he has since forced his way back into the starting XI.
Arteta was quizzed about the possibility of making the Spaniard’s move permanent following his upturn in form.
The Gunners boss said: “We haven’t had any discussions about it.
“I’m really happy with Dani and what he’s bringing to the team right now.
“It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I’ve seen in the past.
“He’s performing much better now and that’s why he’s playing much more games.”
