With the winter break well behind us, it’s time to go full steam ahead for the remainder of the Premier League and fantasy football campaign.
Game Week 26 sees everyone return to action at the weekend, with the exception of Liverpool and West Ham who play on Monday.
Champions League and Europa League football is also back on the menu, with a handful of fixtures already taking place earlier this week.
So with all of that in mind, we’re here to point out all of the major injuries that might affect your team – not including the already well-publicised season ending knock to Son Heung-min.
He’s been one of the heroes of the season so far for Liverpool; an almighty presence in the table-toppers midfield and one of the favourites to win the Player of the Year award.
But Henderson looks set to miss the next few weeks with a hamstring injury, which he picked up during Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
He’ll be a big miss for your Dream Team, but even bigger miss for the Reds.
There’s also another Premier League midfield stalwart who’s facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with Kante set to miss Chelsea’s next few matches with an adductor injury.
The little Frenchman pulled up in the Blues’ defeat to Man United last week; not even seeing out the first-half of the match.
The biggest concern for Chelsea now is that their midfield dynamo could miss their Champions League tie with Bayern Munich on Tuesday and the FA Cup match-up with Liverpool a week later.
Mesut Ozil
Ozil netted his first goal in 10 months last time out for Arsenal in their 4-0 win over Newcastle – and it must’ve been a tremendous relief for the beleaguered German.
But there’s a strong possibility he could miss the Gunners’ Sunday game against Everton due to his wife about to give birth, having also sat out of their Europe League match in Greece during the week.
Mason Greenwood
Man United’s newest hot shot has been the talk of their campaign so far, having burst onto the scene and taken his first steps towards super-stardom with goals in the Premier League and Europa League.this season.
But the 18-year-old was left out of their 1-1 draw at Club Brugge on Thursday with an illness; failing to even travel to Belgium with the rest of the squad.
It’s unclear if he’ll be well enough to face Watford at the weekend, which may give former Hornets’ striker Odion Ighalo the chance for a run-out at Old Trafford.
David Silva
Man City have said they will assess Silva ahead of their Saturday evening match against second-place rivals Leicester, after the veteran midfielder was forced off during the midweek win against West Ham.
Chris Woods
Burnley could be without their striker ahead of their Saturday afternoon clash with Bournemouth, after he limped off against Southampton last week with a hamstring complaint.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek & Tammy Abraham
Although they’re missing Kante, as well as Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi at the moment, Chelsea can welcome back star striker Abraham and long-term absentee Loftus-Cheek to their side this weekend for their London-derby against Spurs.
Loftus-Cheek has been out of contention all season, after rupturing his Achilles tendon towards the end of last term.
It’s unlikely the midfielder will play any major part of the game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, but it’s certainly a boast to the team to see him return, and he’ll be joined by fellow academy graduate Abraham who’s said to be “probably around 70%” fit, according to Frank Lampard.
Scott McTominay
Man United have said that McTominay is likely to be in the squad for their game against Watford – which is the first time he’ll be in a match day team since his knee ligament injury on Boxing Day.
Andre Gomes
Everton’s handsome midfielder could make his first appearance since early November, having recovered from the horrific ankle injury he suffered at the hands of Son Heung-min.
Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti was asked about the Portuguese international on Friday and said:”Andre is available to play.
“He trained well, properly, with confidence and without problems.
“My opinion he is ready to play. After that, before the game, we are going to talk together and decide whether he can start the game or if he goes on the bench.”
