A BRIT trickster has caused mayhem at his local Essex Wetherspoons by urging pals to order a deluge of food and drink to his table number through the pub’s app.
Soldier Alan “Chappy” Chapman, 35, posted his table number to Facebook, daring his friends to “do your worst”.
Amused pals took to the Wetherspoons app – which allows anyone with an iPhone or Android phone to order food and drinks to their table – and ordered a total of 165 items to Alan’s table.
Confused staff at The Temeraire pub in Safron Walden delivered the multiple orders of mushy peas, cakes, steaks, black pudding and halloumi cheese.
Chappy, a Berwick Hills soldier who works in the bomb disposal unit, told Teeside Live: “I was having a quiet Friday, we were going to London to have a sesh (the next day).
“Things escalated quite drastically.
With the help of some friends, Chappy polished off the drinks brought to the table.
He explained: “I think they had already served us something along the lines of 50 or 60 drinks, then he (the manager) was like ‘that’s it, we are stopping it now’.”

After the orders were banned, the soldier admitted it was probably for the best.
He added: “I was a little bit intoxicated, I had a little bit of a bad head the next day, what makes you bad makes you better.”
He also later admitted posting the table details on social media “wasn’t the best move” but it was a “good night” nonetheless.
And the following day the prankster went straight to a Wetherspoon in Liverpool Street in London.
However, this time he warned over social media: “I will NOT be sharing the table number this time”, accompanied by two crying laughing emojis.
The Wetherspoon website states: “Going to the bar to order when you’re visiting the pub with children can be tricky. Keep everyone seated at the table and order using your phone – we’ll bring everything to you.
“It’s perfect if you’re visiting the pub on your own and don’t want to lose your table – or you don’t want to carry a large round of drinks back through a busy pub on a tray.
“It’s also a game-changer if you’re not as mobile or you’re sitting a long way away from the bar, in one of our beer gardens or on an upper-floor area.
“Let us do the leg-work and bring your order to you.”
In a similar case in Wales, a dad was sent £700 of drinks in an hour after revealing his Wetherspoons table number on Twitter.
Karl Phillips was bombarded with free booze after tweeting he was heading for an 11am pint at The Gold Cape pub in Mold, North Wales.
The football fan, known as Bootlegger or “The Captain”, was sent dozens of orders through the Wetherspoons app when asked for his table number by one of his 232,000 followers.
Clearly shocked at the generosity and possibly a little confused, Karl tweeted: “Well f*** dis s***.
“Jesus wept who keeps sending me drinks they piling up like f*** lads.”
Some of the bizarre orders included a bowl of peas, some baked beans, and a side salad.
