A DISTRAUGHT mom walked in on a “friend” raping her eight-year-old daughter on Sunday night, court records say.
Donovan L. Wilson, 28, was booked on Tuesday after the unnamed mother said she allegedly found him sexually abusing her child in Indiana.
The woman told Crown Point police the little girl went downstairs with Wilson while she was putting her other kids to bed, Lake Criminal Court records state.
When she followed them down some time later, the mom saw him allegedly raping her daughter, reports the NWTimes.
She told cops Wilson began “acting drunk” when she screamed his name in horror, according to court documents.
They revealed the woman recalled how he then reportedly fell to the floor, acting as if he passed out.
The schoolgirl was left trembling and “shaking in fear” after the alleged sick sex attack.
Her concerned mom told investigators she had to wrap her in a blanket in an effort to calm her down.
She then brought the terrified youngster to a relative’s house for the night, documents say.
Court records indicate the woman asked her daughter if Wilson had ever touched her before.
“It happens when you’re at work,” was her daughter’s heartbreaking reply, the documents allege.
The relationship between Wilson and the child’s mom has not been officially confirmed.
Screaming Wilson’s name would indicate he was known to the victim’s mother.
Wilson could face 20 to 40 years behind bars if he’s convicted of child molesting – a Level 1 felony.
He is being held at Lake County Jail ahead of his next court appearance, according to local reports.
