GLASTONBURY Festival goers are already looking forward to joining this year’s 50th anniversary festivities

Glastonbury 2020 will take place from Wednesday June 24 to Sunday June 28 2020.
All tickets for this event are priced at £295 plus £5 booking fee and include access to the camping fields but have all sold out.
It is the 50th Anniversary of the five-day festival in 2020 and it takes place on Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset.
Founded in 1970 by English dairy farmer Micheal Eavis the festival now hosts over 200,000 attendees.
So far here are the headliners that have been announced for this years festival.
Former Beatle Paul McCartney confirms he will play the Pyramid stage on Saturday night.
At 77 years old he will be one of the oldest headlines this year with organiser Emily Eavis writing on twitter that it’s “An absolute dream come true. There was really no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary @ Glastonbury Festival.”
Next up is American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift who will headline the pyramid stage on the Sunday night slot.
This will be the star’s debut appearance at the prestigious U.K festival.
She will be the sixth solo female headliner in the 50 year history of this festival and is the first female headline performer since Adele performed on the Pyramid stage in 2016 to a crowd of over 100,000.
Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis said: “I’m so pleased to announce Taylor Swift will be headlining the Sunday at Glsstonbury 2020. She’s one of the biggest stars in the world and her songs are absolutely amazing. We’re so delighted.”
Queen supreme Diana Ross will perform at the legendary Sunday teatime slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2020.
This Motown icon has a career spanning over five decades with record sales of 100 million and over 50 number one hits.
She is sure to bring elegance and glamour to the festival’s 50th anniversary announcing “To all my fans across the world, this is my tribute to you, every concert feels like a private party, I can see your eyes and feel your hearts. I’m coming to Glastonbury, with love.”
Festival organisers have announced that Lana Del Rey will headline the Pyramid stage on Friday.
This will be the Grammy award nominees only UK festival date in 2020.
Festival organiser Emily Eavis announced the news on Twitter, saying she was “very happy to tell you that the wonderful Lana Del Rey will be playing on the Pyramid stage this year”
The first act to have been officially confirmed are British rock band, Wolf Alice with festival founder Micheal Eavis saying “We love hosting bands who want to play it and they’re just so fantastic live…”
Huey Morgan from Fun Lovin’ Criminals has also confirmed they will be headlining a stage at Glastonbury 2020.
Glastonbury festival offers a mix of theatre, cabaret, circus acts and comedy in addition to upcoming music artist and established big names.
Previous perfomers at the festival have included Billy Eilish, Liam Gallagher and electronic duo- The Chemical Brothers.
There rumour mill is in full swing with music stars posting cryptic teasers on twitter that suggests they are on the Glastonbury 2020 line-up.
Some performers have self-confirmed for this years festival including Aerosmith, Kendrick Lamar, Crowded House and The Pet Shop Boys.
There is speculation that Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Alicia Keys and Calvin Harris are to be featured on the bill.
Some bands have already put the speculation to rest with Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin confirming the band will not perform at Glastonbury 2020.
