DEAR DEIDRE: BECAUSE my boyfriend works away in Saudi we only see one another, and have sex, every other month.
It should be extra-special but I usually find it hurts.
I come from a traditional family and was late losing my virginity. I am 30 and he is my first sexual partner. He’s 41.
He comes home for ten days at a time and obviously he expects our love-making to be special. But I often find it stings, especially at first.
I know everything is OK “down there” as I saw a gynaecologist for a check-up.
I’m feeling like a let-down. Could the reason be that we don’t spend enough time warming up?

DEIDRE SAYS: If you two have not seen one another for several weeks, then your boyfriend may want instant passion.
But it is important to start gradually so that it is not uncomfortable when you have intercourse.
