FOOTBALL players saw red after a last-minute equaliser sparked a 17-Man BRAWL.
Leyton Orient and Northampton stars flew into a rage after two players clashed in the dying minutes of their League Two match last night.
It all kicked off after Josh Wright celebrated a dramatic 85th-minute penalty leveller for Orient – with fans stunned by what happened next.
Out of nowhere two players threw each other to the ground as they grappled and tugged onto each other’s shirts.
Seconds later players were running in from all angles to join in the melee – launching themselves at their opponents.
One of the brawlers was left lying on the pitch from the fight while others continued to shove and square up to each other after the ref waded in.
Surprisingly the ugly scenes only ended with two players sent off as Orient’s James Dayton and Northampton’s Scott Wharton were given the marching orders for the fight.
Wharton had earlier given the deciding penalty away with a handball.
After the match, Orient boss Ross Embleton moaned: “The ref told me there was so much going on — but that’s a cop out.”
It’s not the first time the East London club have found themselves embroiled in trouble this season.
In September, supporters were involved in clashes with Salford City fans as they lobbed cones at each other in an ugly post-match scrap.
Crowds from both sides got into a row outside of Salford’s stadium as they made their way to coaches.
While some fans threw punches and aimed kicks, some were picking up police cones to launch at their rival supporters.
