JULIANNE Hough revealed last year that she’s “not straight”.
And her husband, former NFL player Brooks Laich, explained that he’s also exploring his own sexuality, after it was revealed the couple are “spending time apart.”
The 36-year-old explained that he’s focussing on achieving a better sex life, as he spoke frankly on his podcast, “How Men Think” with co-host Gavin DeGraw on Tuesday.
“People think that sexuality is just the act of sex, of just having sex and there’s so much more to it. Here’s a question. This is an honest question for everybody in this room, and every single person listening: Are you fully 100 percent fully expressed in your true sexuality? With your partner? With everything? You could not imagine having a better sex life? Are you truly there?” Laich said.
He continued: “I’m not either. So that’s what one of my goals this year is to really dive into. So then we’re all essentially – that’s a state of suffering.”
“We’re not 10s of 10s, ” he went on, continuing: “It doesn’t mean you’re the best performer. It just means, ‘Are you fully expressed?’ Do you even know who you are sexually? And I truly, to my core, do not.”
The sportsman said that he’s looking forward to exploring his sexuality and understanding his Dancing with The Stars.
“I’m super excited about that journey to really learn about sexuality and also get better at the performance of it, but also just the understanding of who I am, who my wife is, that sort of dance,” he added.
Hough and Laich married in July 2017, but are reportedly spending time apart, according to E!
“They have been spending time apart but are not ready to share what’s going on between them,” an insider told E! News earlier this month.
They added: “They don’t even really know what to call it. There’s a ton of love and emotion there and they are going through something very personal.
“She’s been very private about this time in her life and is not making any kind of official announcement,” the source adds. “She is honoring her work commitments, as is he, and it’s kept them apart. But things have definitely changed in their relationship.”
Last September, Hough revealed in the September cover issue of Women’s Health that she is “not straight.” She revealed he moment she had told Laich, four months after they tied the knot.
“I (told him), ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’ I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you,’” she told the magazine.
