But now Katie is fitting fit and told this week’s Closer magazine she is feeling “more confident than ever” after shedding the pounds.
Katie said that during filming, she found comfort in eating: “I was snacking on biscuits in the green room and eating flapjacks made by the crew when I was exhausted.”
The soap star revealed: “I was usually between a size 8-10 when ordering clothes, but I was creeping up to a size 12, which isn’t bad at all, but it was bigger than I usually am.”

Now her programme is coming to an end the toned star said she plans to continue working out and focusing on her new diet which consists of “good fats like salmon, eggs and nut butters.”
Katie bowed out of the ITV soap during a heartwrenching episode, as Sinead finally lost her battle to cervical cancer.
She is up for a National Television Award for her impressive portrayal of the character.
Since leaving the show Katie has already appeared in panto and has auditioned for some exciting new roles.
She told Daily Star: “It’s going to be an exciting year. I’ve already had so many wonderful auditions.
“One was for a big Netflix show, which would be an amazing opportunity. But I can’t say too much more.
“I’m also going to LA. I’ve never been before, but I can do a really good American accent.”
She added: “And if doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t work out.”
