IF YOU have ever dreamed of flying business class round the world, prepare to be jealous of Coco the bunny.
This rabbit knows how to live the high life, with photos showing the bow tie-wearing bunny being pampered as she jets in style with her owner.
Eight-year-old Coco was recently pictured accompanying her owner Takako Ogawa as she flew from San Francisco to move back home to Japan – and she quickly became the star of the United Airlines flight.
Adorable photos show the classy blue mini-rex named Coco snuggling up in her own spacious seat nibbling on croissants and nuts.
Coco had braved a plane before when Takako moved to California three years beforehand, but the 32-year-old feared her beloved bunny was now too old to be safe in the hold for the 11-hour flight.
So the CEO registered her pet as an emotional support animal and paid just $100 (£76) to allow her to come into the cabin with her in a carry case – and didn’t even need to buy an extra seat.
When cabin crew let her know that the seat next to her was unoccupied, Takako freed the little rabbit and let her occupy her luxurious seat herself.
Takako claims her fluffy pet was popular with the staff – who swapped duties with each other to each have the chance to come and meet Coco.
One member of staff even offered the rabbit her own food from the flight’s in-house ice cream sundae service, with Coco able to nibble on her own bowl of almonds and nuts.
Takako, from Kyoto, Japan, said: “This is one of my favourite flights I’ve ever had. There’s nothing like being able to take your bunny on the plane.
“She was very curious and was hopping around. She’s usually very good. She’s very calm being surrounded by people and in a different environment, so she took it really well.
“When I got my own ice cream sundae, the flight attendant looked over and asked if the rabbit wanted anything.
“I wasn’t sure what the rabbit could have, but she got some of the toppings like almonds and nuts and they put it on a very small plate for her.
“It was adorable. She did enjoy them. She was very happy.”
Despite rescuing the rabbit from having to be in the hold for the flight, Takako claims she was concerned about making sure Coco was happy and had no accidents.
She said: “One thing I was very worried about was her toilet situation, so I brought a lot of pet sheets in her cart. But otherwise I think it was all good.
“I was nervous [she might try and explore the plane]. She did hop around, explore the pillows, but only in her own [business class] cubicle. I wouldn’t want her hopping around [the rest of the plane].”
Takako explained that she had been worried about putting her old bunny in the cargo area due to the stress it can cause.
She explained: “What happens in the cargo is that there are a lot of anxious animals on the plane with her. Dogs will be barking all the time.
“My friend had a cat that was put in the cargo that got so nervous during the flight that she couldn’t eat for another week after landing.
“That kind of pressure might have been bad for Coco because she is older now.
“I got her an emotional support animal certificate.”
United Airlines were contacted for comment.
