THE fiance of a young Texas mom who was found dead after police say she was kidnapped from her home with her newborn daughter, is demanding authorities charge her alleged captor with murder.
Shane Carey fought back tears on Thursday while speaking about the tragedy in an interview with Good Morning America.
The widowed father-of-two, said that he is still struggling to accept the fact that the mother of his children is gone, but grateful that their daughter is back home with him and her older brother.
Authorities believe that Magen Fieramusca, 33, wanted to kidnap Broussard’s daughter Margo and pass off the child as her own.
“I want to look at her straight in the eyes and ask her why? That’s all I want to say,” said Shane.
“There’s no reason for any of this. I believe somebody talked her into it. I mean, from knowing Magen, I would never imagine it.”
Fieramusca had told people she was pregnant in the months prior to Margo’s birth and her own boyfriend was under the impression that Margo was her child.
When presented with a flyer that showed the missing newborn a week after she disappeared, Christopher Green told authorities ‘that is the baby at my house.’
Police were able to recover Margot soon after and charged Fieramusca with kidnapping.
They also discovered the remains of her mother, locating Broussard in the trunk of a car that had been hidden from view in her back yard.
An affidavit obtained by The Sun noted that one office “on the scene unmistakable odor of decomposing flesh.”
And while Shane wants Fieramusca charged, he questioned how she was able to carry out the alleged murder on her own, and suggested that she may not have acted alone.
“Heidi is way stronger than Magen,” stated Carey.
“There has to be a second person. There is no way Magen was by herself.”
It is still unclear if Fieramusca was pregnant.
She told police she gave birth at a hospital in early December but could not recall the name of the facility.
It was shortly after this when an eyewitness saw her leaving an apartment complex with Broussard, and get into the same car where her remains would later be found by police.
Fieramusca is currently facing two charges of kidnapping and one count of tampering with a human corpse.
She is being held on $600,000 bail, with her attorney commenting on these new allegations by stating: ‘The cursory information contained in the recently released probable cause affidavit is nothing more than mere allegation
Carey meanwhile plans to launch a foundation in Broussard’s memory to help families dealing with trauma, Heidi and Shane’s Family Fund.
