A MAN has been arrested after a mum was slashed in the face and back while pushing her baby’s pram on a London street.
Scotland Yard said the 43-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the early hours of this morning.
Jo Conlon screamed “I’ve been stabbed” after she was attacked in Streatham Hill, South West London, at around 5.20pm on December 30.
She was approached from behind and slashed three times before her attacker ran off.
The marketing manager was rushed to hospital but her injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Her child – understood to be aged around one – was not injured the attack.
Police have described the incident as “unprovoked” and arrested the suspect after he attended a West London police station.
He remains in custody.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “A 43-year-old man attended a west London police station in the early hours of Thursday, 2 January. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“He was further arrested for the suspected possession of offensive weapons.
“He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.”
