ONE person has died in a horror crash on the M5 this morning – shutting the motorway.
Two cars collided near Quedgeley in Gloucester just after 8am.
An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene between junction 12 and junction 11A, but couldn’t save the driver.
Cops haven’t confirmed if the person killed was a man or women, or their age.
Their family has not yet been told of the tragic death.
The driver of the other car was taken to hospital, but is thought to have suffered non-serious injuries.
The northbound carriageway is still closed between the two junctions while a serious collision investigation takes place, but the southbound carriageway is now open.
It comes as three BA crew members were killed in a New Year’s Eve lorry crash near Heathrow Airport.
The two men, aged 25 and 23, and a 20-year-old woman who died at the scene – along with a 25 year-old woman in a serious condition in hospital – are all believed to have been friends.
One has since been named as Dominic Fell by distraught friends and colleagues.
