GHISLAINE Maxwell is being hidden from the FBI in safe houses in Israel and the UK because she has so much dirt on “powerful” people, it’s been reported.
It has also been claimed the missing Brit socialite and paedo pal Jeffrey Epstein were foreign intelligence “assets” who traded information on the rich and famous.
“Ghislaine is protected. She and Jeffrey were assets of sorts for multiple foreign governments,” an unnamed source told Page Six.
“They would trade information about the powerful people caught in his net – caught at Epstein’s house.’
Rumours have long circulated Epstein secretly videoed pals having sex with underage girls either for blackmail purposes or as leverage for foreign intelligence services.
Maxwell, 58, has since been accused of procuring underage girls for the shamed financier like a “pimp.”
She is now reportedly the main focus of an ongoing FBI probe although she has repeatedly denied the accusations against her and has never been charged.
Her whereabouts have been a mystery since 66-year-old Epstein took his own life in a New York jail cell in August while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Now a source claims she is being protected by powerful foreign interests until the high-profile Epstein scandal blows over.
“She is not in the US, she moves around. She is sometimes in the UK, but most often in other countries, such as Israel, where her powerful contacts have provided her with safe houses and protection,” the insider told Page Six.
She is being “protected because of the information she has on the world’s most powerful people,” the source added.
They also claimed Prince Andrew begged Maxwell to break cover and help clear his name after Virginia Roberts claimed Epstein forced her to have sex with him when she was 17.
The royal strenuously denies the shocking allegations and claims he can’t even remember meeting her – despite being pictured with his arm around her.
‘”Andrew pleaded with Ghislaine to publicly defend him. She carefully considered it, but decided no good would come of it (if she came forward). It isn’t in her best interests,” the source told Page Six.
It has previously been reported the “brazen” socialite is convinced she will escape prosecution and return to her high society party life once “the dust has settled”.
In November, a lawyer representing several Epstein accusers told The Sun he believed the FBI was closely monitoring her whereabouts.
Spencer Kuvin said the FBI are building a strong case against her before any arrest and that they are following her every move.
But some believe the feds have already tracked her down and she is now co-operating with them in secret.
Theorists say she fears for her life while other believe she is trying to strike some kind of deal with investigators.
There is absolutely no evidence to back up the bizarre claims – which have been made on various social news sites including Reddit.
However, last month Virginia Roberts claimed feds had informed her about a “credible threat” against her life.
That revelation came a day after she said “evil people” want to keep her “quiet”, adding: “If something happens to me, don’t let it go”.
“I have been informed from the F.B.I there has been a credible death threat against me,” she wrote on Twitter .
With Epstein dead and the Prince’s constant denials, Ms Maxwell has become the key witness to the whole sordid affair..
Her last-known whereabouts was reportedly a mansion in Massachusetts, in the US, where she was reportedly holed up with a tech executive.
However, the last time she was actually seen in public was at a yacht party in Monaco on June 9, where she was photographed rubbing shoulders with the likes of Paris Hilton.
In the meantime, conspiracists have been running wild with their ideas about where she could be.
One popular theory is that Ms Maxwell is working closely with Israel’s intelligence service.
A post on Reddit stated: “She’s Mossad like her dad”, referencing Robert Maxwell, the disgraced newspaper tycoon, who was also accused of being an Israeli spy.
He reportedly had ties to British intelligence, the Soviet KGB, and Mossad and was suspected of being a double or even triple agent by British Foreign Office officials.
In a 2015 statement, Maxwell rejected allegations she ever acted as a procurer for Epstein.
Her spokesperson said “the allegations are untrue” and she “strongly denies allegations of an unsavoury nature, which have appeared in the British press and elsewhere.”
