INSTAGRAM lovers will know that the approach of the New Year means one thing for the photo app and that’s the return of ‘top nine posts’ of the year collages.
Posting a picture of your top nine posts has become somewhat of a yearly tradition but you can’t actually create your collage through Instagram itself.
Instead, you’ll need to use a special third party app.
Two of the most popular are Top Nine and Best Nine.
Both apps don’t require your email address or a registration.
You just need to provide your Instagram handle and they will assemble your top posts of 2019 in terms of likes.
You will then be given the option to share the image on your account.
The apps also give you the chance to look over your Instagram performance statistics for the past 12 months.
Due to high demand, the apps can sometimes take a while to compile your data.
Best Nine previously displayed this holding message to eager users: “Please note that now it takes like 10 minutes to complete your request due to a huge demand.”
Once you’ve got your results you’ll be given the slightly sinister option of comparing them to anyone you know with a public account, including celebrities.
There are also apps that create a ‘best nine’ collage from private accounts but they will require a bit more personal information.
Any apps that ask for your passwords or personal information should always be used with caution.
If you have to use one, make sure it comes from a trusted source and has good reviews.
